The Green Sheet is the opposite of an eco-label or rating
system. Rating systems condense a menu of environmental metrics into a single
label earned by a limited number of buildings; the Green Sheet complements this
approach by assembling a dossier of sustainability metrics for each and every
building. The intent of this tool is to enable real estate professionals to integrate
sustainability directly into their workflow for site selection, corporate
sustainability reporting, and targeting capital or operating improvements.
Metrics in the Green Sheet were filtered based on three criteria: substantial sustainability impact, relative ease of obtaining the data, and clarity: the existence of a clear, common standard of measurement. The resulting metrics were categorized into three groups, in order of priority: |
